Slash - Slash (2010)

Slash’s first solo release is a must have for any rock fan. It is a combination of stunning riffs and excellent vocals that fuse to create possibly the best rock release of 2010.

The variety in the vocals gives this album something fresh that no bands can replicate. This is the work of one of the world’s greatest guitarists with a chosen few vocalists which means that no two tracks are the same. This is ensures by the range of genres these vocalists come from, with Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, Chris Cornell of the newly reformed Soundgarden and two greats from the metal world Lemmy of Motörhead and Ozzy Osbourne.

Slash has gone in the right direction with this album giving the public what will become a classic from the go will give them something to look forward to with the next Slash release whether it is a solo project or work with a band.

Into more depth with the album itself, Slash’s riffs range from heavy metal to slow rock giving the album a hybrid feel meaning that it was made to appeal to all fans not just one particular genre. The success of this album as a collaborative work comes from the fact that it is actually a collaborative work, meaning that it song was written by a combination of Slash and his chosen vocalist or musicians in the case of ‘Watch This’ (an instrumental work featuring Dave Grohl and Duff McKagan). This is an amazing work for 2010 that shows that artists of many genres can come together to creating something that can be enjoyed by all.
